I am not contracted with any insurance company, however I am able to provide a Superbill that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Additionally, my specializations may create an eligibility for what is known as a ‘Network Gap Exemption’, which may allow you to receive reimbursement from your insurance for my full fee, minus your in-network cost sharing requirements (co-pays, and deductible). Please inquire for more information about this insurance reimbursement mechanism.

The length and frequency of sessions are tailored to your individual needs and preferences. Many clients prefer 50-minute sessions once a week, but 90-minute sessions are also available, as well as intensives lasting up to 3 hours. Depending on your needs, sessions can be scheduled as frequently as three times per week or as infrequently as every two weeks. To start, I typically recommend weekly sessions to establish a strong working relationship and help you achieve your goals effectively.

The length of time you spend in therapy can vary greatly from person to person. For some individuals, four to six months (16 - 26 sessions) may be sufficient to address specific issues like a breakup or a major life transition. For others, especially those dealing with extensive abuse histories, the process may take much longer. Throughout our time together, we will regularly assess your progress and decide together when it feels right to conclude therapy.

In a 'trial therapy' session, you can expect an initial, in-depth meeting designed to assess and begin addressing your specific psychological needs. I often recommend initial sessions of 90 minutes, however the length of the initial session is up to you. A trial session, distinct from a free consultation, is interactive and extensive, allowing both you and me to gain a deeper understanding of your emotional and psychological landscape. I will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore underlying emotions, observe defense mechanisms, and provide real-time feedback and insights. By the end of the session, you should have a clearer understanding of your emotional issues and how therapy can help address them. I will offer recommendations for further treatment and together, we will decide if my therapeutic approach is right for your needs and whether to continue working together.

A trauma therapist is a licensed mental health professional with advanced training in evidence-based trauma treatments like EMDR for shock trauma, or ISTDP in the case of relational and attachment trauma. This specialized training allows trauma therapists to address the root causes of post traumatic symptoms, while helping clients avoid re-traumatization by carefully building resources and safety in the nervous system.
